Euro Scope GmbH, a German firm specializing in commemorative and novelty euro-format items, issued this "0 Euro" souvenir note in cooperation with the official licensing estate of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The denomination is legally meaningless — the 0 Euro souvenir series exploits ECB regulations that impose no restrictions on notes with a face value of zero, allowing private issuers to produce euro-format pieces without infringing on currency law.
Printed by Enschedé in Haarlem, one of Europe's oldest and most technically accomplished security printers, the production quality substantially exceeds what the novelty premise might suggest. The hologram strip is a genuine security feature, not decorative — Enschedé applies the same substrate treatments used in actual circulating issues.
