Opmerkingen

Memo euros are a legitimate niche of modern notaphily — souvenir pieces issued in euro-like format but carrying no face value and no legal tender status. Euroscope GmbH has produced these for various Austrian tourist attractions, with Familypark St. Margarethen in Burgenland among them. The choice of Royal Joh. Enschedé as printer is the genuinely notable detail here: a firm with an unbroken operational history since 1703, responsible for Netherlands banknotes for most of the twentieth century and security printing contracts across Europe.

Enschedé's involvement lends the piece a production quality well above typical souvenir ephemera. Cotton substrate and the Haarlem press together mean the physical object outlasts most of what surrounds it in a gift shop.
