Euroscope's "0 Memo Euro" series occupied a peculiar commercial niche in the early 2000s — souvenir novelty items sold at tourist locations across Germany, denominated at zero and carrying no legal tender status whatsoever. The Dresden Terrassenufer example is one of dozens of location-specific variants issued under the same format, differentiated only by the printed site reference.
Produced to sidestep EU regulations prohibiting euro-like forgeries, the explicit zero denomination was the legal fig leaf that kept them in the gift shop and out of court.
