To the upper left, the EUROSOUVENIR logo appears on a blue flag-shaped panel alongside a ring of gold stars and the series date 2023-1; below it, the large numeral '0' is rendered in fine engraved linework. The EURO SOUVENIR logotype appears in blue and purple at lower centre, accompanied by the facsimile signature of R. Faille, C.E.O., and the serial number prefix XEUM at lower right. |

The zero-euro souvenir note program — launched in France around 2015 and later expanded across Europe — occupies a peculiar regulatory space: legal tender denomination, genuine security printing, but zero monetary value by design. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces them to full banknote specification, including intaglio printing and embedded security features, which is precisely the point for collectors willing to pay €3–5 for something technically worth nothing.
Karlsruhe's Zoologischer Stadtgarten is one of Germany's oldest municipal zoos, founded in 1865.
