| Obverse description | Central vignette presents an intaglio-style engraving of the Basílica del Pilar in Zaragoza, with its characteristic baroque towers and dome rendered in violet-pink tones against a yellow-orange underprint, with the Ebro bridge in the foreground. To the right, a vignette of the Virgin of the Pillar icon appears against a guilloche background with a ring of blue stars, while the large zero denomination numeral in intaglio occupies the left-centre field. The upper-left corner carries the blue European Union flag with the inscription 'EURO SOUVENIR', the series designation '2025-2', and the lower-right bears the 'EURO SOUVENIR' logotype alongside a facsimile signature of R. Faille, C.E.O. |

Euro Souvenir notes are a French-originated commercial scheme launched around 2015, sold through tourist outlets as legal-tender-adjacent collectibles that technically carry face value but are never intended for spending. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces the series under license, applying genuine banknote security features — watermark and hologram included — which gives the physical object more credibility than the monetary concept behind it warrants.
The Basílica del Pilar in Zaragoza is one of the few major basilicas in the world built over a site where Marian apparition tradition predates Christianity's formal establishment in Iberia — the apparition of the Virgin to Saint James is dated by tradition to 40 AD, while James was still alive.
