The 0 Euro souvenir note program, administered through licensed distributors across Europe, uses Oberthur Fiduciaire's security printing infrastructure — the same house responsible for banknotes issued by numerous African and European central banks. The collector series deliberately mirrors genuine banknote production standards, including UV-reactive elements and microprinting, which has occasionally caused confusion at automated detection terminals.
Václav IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor-elect, ruled during one of the more chaotic stretches of late medieval central European politics — deposed twice, held prisoner by his own nobles. A notable choice for a Czech-themed souvenir issue.
