The 0 Euro souvenir program, administered through licensed retailers and regional partners across Europe, uses genuine Oberthur Fiduciaire security paper and production methods — the same house responsible for banknotes issued by several European central banks. The zero-denomination format was deliberately chosen to sidestep legal-tender regulations while preserving the physical authenticity of the object.

Slezskoostravský hrad, a medieval castle in the Silesian quarter of Ostrava, sits above the confluence of the Ostravice and Lučina rivers. Its inclusion in the souvenir series reflects the program's expansion into Czech heritage sites during the early 2020s.
