Setenil de las Bodegas, a Cádiz province village where houses have been built into natural rock overhangs since at least the medieval period, has become one of Spain's more photographed rural destinations — which is precisely why it appears on a souvenir zero-euro note. These pieces have no legal tender status anywhere and are issued commercially through licensed arrangements with the European Central Bank's design framework, effectively functioning as tourist merchandise printed on banknote-grade substrate.
