| Opmerkingen |
EuroSouvenir notes occupy a peculiar legal gray zone — they carry a zero denomination specifically to avoid classification as legal tender under EU regulations, yet Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them on genuine banknote-grade paper using the same security printing infrastructure used for actual euro production. This particular release belongs to the "Giganten der Meere" (Giants of the Seas) prehistoric marine reptile series issued in 2020, one of hundreds of themed souvenir euros the XEMF program has produced since its commercial launch.
Collectors should note that Oberthur's involvement is not incidental — the French firm has produced banknotes for over 100 countries, and their involvement lends these notes a physical authenticity that purely novelty items lack.
