The SOMUA S35 was arguably the best medium tank fielded by any side in May 1940 — better armored and better armed than most of what the Wehrmacht brought across the Meuse — yet it couldn't save France. The Musée des Blindés at Saumur holds one of the finest surviving examples, and the tank's selection for this souvenir note reflects the museum's reputation as the most significant armored vehicle collection in the world.
Oberthur Fiduciaire has printed the bulk of France's souvenir euro series. These notes carry no legal tender status anywhere.
