The zero euro souvenir note program, administered by the Madrid-based European Association of Collectors of Souvenir Banknotes (MEAJ), launched in 2015 and has since produced hundreds of location-specific pieces printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire — the same French security printer behind numerous circulating issues across the eurozone.
