Oberthur Fiduciaire's souvenir euro program has produced hundreds of these licensed collector pieces for tourist sites across Europe, and Parque de Atracciones de Madrid is one of the more straightforward entries in that catalog — an amusement park that opened in 1969 in the Casa de Campo. The notes carry no legal tender status anywhere and were sold directly at the attraction as merchandise. Oberthur prints them to genuine banknote specification, same security substrate and intaglio process used for circulating currency, which is precisely what justifies the price point at the gift shop.
