EuroSouvenir 0 Euro notes are legal-tender denominated collector pieces issued under a scheme authorized by the Banque de France, allowing cultural and tourist sites to commission their own designs within the standard Euro banknote format. Oberthur Fiduciaire — one of the major security printers behind actual Euro production — handles the printing, which gives these souvenirs genuine security features including a hologram strip, making them superficially indistinguishable from circulating notes at a glance.

The Overlord Museum sits directly adjacent to Omaha Beach at Colleville-sur-Mer, opened in 2013 with a private collection focused on the material culture of the Normandy campaign. The note's face value of zero renders it non-redeemable by design.
