Comments

EuroSouvenir notes occupy a strange corner of numismatics — legal-tender denominated at zero, issued under a European Central Bank exemption that allows them to circulate as collectibles without constituting actual currency. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces the series using genuine banknote-grade paper and security printing, which means the physical object is technically more sophisticated than the monetary concept behind it.

The Tour Magne is a Roman tower on the hill of Mont Cavalier — the tallest surviving Roman structure in Nîmes, and old enough that Augustus-era surveys already described it as ancient.
