Obverse description Central vignette presents an intaglio-style engraving of the Maschio Angioino castle's façade, with its cylindrical towers and triumphal arch entrance rendered in violet tones over a fine guilloche underprint. To the left, a large denomination zero in an oval frame is flanked by the EU flag and the Eurosouvenir logo; twelve gold stars arc across the field. The inscription MASCHIO ANGIOINO appears at the base, with the series reference 2020-1 and a facsimile signature of R. Faille, C.E.O., SECA at lower right.

Euro Souvenir notes are a curiosity in modern notaphily — legal tender nominally issued under the authority of participating European central banks at zero face value, which sidesteps counterfeiting law while allowing commercial souvenir producers to mint what are, functionally, collectible tickets. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces them to genuine security-print standards: intaglio, UV-reactive ink, and a proper security thread, which is more than most collectors expect from something sold in a gift shop.

The 0 Euro program launched in France in 2015 and expanded rapidly to tourist sites across Europe. Napoli's Maschio Angioino entry arrived in the 2020 run.
