The 0 Euro souvenir note program, administered through the Euro Banknote Memory collector scheme and printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire, has produced hundreds of regional issues for French tourist sites since around 2015. Fontaine de Vaucluse is a logical participant — the village is famous as the site where Petrarch lived in voluntary seclusion for much of the 1330s and 1340s, and the paper mill itself draws directly on that literary association, operating on the same karst spring that made the valley historically significant as a water source for early industrial milling.
