Obverse description The vignette portrays an Antarctic scene with a modern research vessel and researchers aboard a motorboat in the foreground, set against a backdrop of a historic sailing ship locked in polar ice. The composition evokes the isolation and grandeur of the Antarctic continent, rendered in a multicolour illustrative style typical of Euro souvenir issues. A guilloche underprint in cool tones frames the central imagery, with the denomination '0 EURO' and issue details arranged around the borders.

Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg is the world's largest model railway exhibition, and this souvenir zero-euro note commemorates its Antarctica section — a layout that required custom cold-weather engineering to keep the mechanisms running inside a climate-controlled sub-zero environment. Zero-euro souvenir notes have been produced by Oberthur Fiduciaire since the format was introduced in 2015, deliberately incorporating genuine euro security features — including the EURion constellation and UV-reactive inks — to make counterfeiting commercially pointless while giving the notes tactile legitimacy.
