| Opmerkingen |
The "zero euro" souvenir format was commercialized in France from around 2015, with Enschedé securing a significant share of the printing contracts — a logical choice given their centuries-long relationship with European central bank production. These notes carry no legal tender status anywhere, but they are manufactured to genuine banknote specifications, including security paper and foil holograms, which is precisely what drives the collector market for them.
Parc du Petit Prince, located in Ungersheim, Alsace, is one of hundreds of French tourist sites that have commissioned their own issues. The park trades on Saint-Exupéry's 1943 novella, though the literary estate's licensing arrangements are separate from the note production itself.
