| Opmerkingen |
The 0 euro souvenir note format was pioneered by Euroscope beginning around 2015, licensing the European Central Bank's visual grammar for collector issues tied to tourist sites and regional anniversaries. These notes carry no legal tender status but are printed to genuine banknote specification — Enschedé's involvement is not decorative. The Haarlem firm has produced currency for central banks across four continents, and the security paper with watermark used here is the same category of substrate applied to circulating issues.
Mont Sainte-Odile, the Alsatian hilltop convent, marks its 1,350-year jubilee with this issue. Odile herself is said to have been born blind and received sight at her baptism — a founding miracle that has drawn pilgrims to the Vosges site since the seventh century.
