Souvenir euros of this type are printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire under license from the Union Européenne des Articles Autocollants, which administers the broader EuroSouvenir program. They carry no legal tender status anywhere, but are manufactured to genuine banknote specification — security paper, correct dimensions, Oberthur's intaglio printing — which is precisely what makes them attractive to collectors who would otherwise ignore novelty currency entirely. Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde's belfry, rebuilt in the 1850s under Espérandieu, is one of the more photographed landmarks on the Mediterranean coast.
