The petit train de la Mure operated a narrow-gauge rack railway between Saint-Georges-de-Commiers and La Mure in the Isère département, originally built in 1888 to carry coal from the La Mure basin. It became a tourist line only after coal traffic ceased, running alongside the Drac gorges at elevations that made it a genuine engineering curiosity. The souvenir zero-euro program, administered by the UEVL and printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire — one of France's principal security printers — produces these on genuine banknote paper with a watermark, which is the point: the collectible value is entirely in the format, not the face value.
