The 0 Euro souvenir program, administered under EuroSouvenir licensing, uses genuine Oberthur Fiduciaire security paper and a real embedded thread — the same contractor producing legal-tender notes for multiple central banks. The denomination is legally zero, which sidesteps EU regulations prohibiting private reproduction of euro banknotes, but the production spec is otherwise indistinguishable from circulating currency.
Kutná Hora, a UNESCO-listed Bohemian silver-mining town, is a recurring subject in the Czech souvenir note releases. The silver extracted there from the late 13th century funded the Přemyslid and later Luxembourg dynasties and underpinned the Prague Groschen — one of medieval Europe's most widely traded coins.
