The 0 Euro souvenir note program, run through the European Banknote Memory Organization, licenses individual tourist attractions to issue these Oberthur-printed pieces as collectibles with no legal tender status. Klimahaus Bremerhaven — an exhibition space built around a journey along the 8th meridian east — has issued several in the series; this one tied to the extreme weather component of the permanent exhibition. The watermark is genuine banknote-grade production, which is partly the point: Oberthur prints these on the same equipment used for circulating currency.
