Obverse description Central vignette presents a detailed intaglio-style view of the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, rendered in warm violet-brown tones against a multicolour guilloche underprint. The EU flag vignette appears at upper left alongside the large numeral '0' denomination, with the title inscription 'HUNDERTWASSERHAUS WIEN' across the top. A signature reading 'R. Faille, C.E.O.' and the NELN series prefix appear at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse carries vignettes of six iconic European landmarks arranged across the note — Brandenburg Gate, Belém Tower, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Sagrada Família, and Manneken Pis — set within a multicolour guilloche underprint. A portrait of the Mona Lisa appears at right. Each monument is captioned with its name, and the printer's credit 'PRINTED BY OBERTHUR FIDUCIAIRE / MADE IN FRANCE' runs along the lower margin.

Comments

Euro Souvenir notes occupy a strange niche — legal novelty items denominated at zero, produced under license from the European Central Bank, which permits their issue provided they cannot be mistaken for genuine euro banknotes. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major security printers behind actual euro production, prints these with full intaglio and security features anyway, which gives them a tactile quality that outclasses most real circulating currency from smaller nations.

The Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, completed in 1986, was a municipal social housing project — an unusual subject for a collectible, though Friedensreich Hundertwasser's insistence on uneven floors and tree-filled terraces made it an architectural landmark rather than ordinary council stock.
