EEDL's souvenir program, distributed primarily through tourist sites and regional gift shops, uses Oberthur Fiduciaire's security printing infrastructure to produce notes that are legal in format but carry no monetary obligation whatsoever.

Oberthur's involvement means genuine security features — UV-reactive ink, microprinting — are present despite the note's purely commemorative function. Collectors should note that print runs for castle-themed Slovak issues in this series tend to be small and are rarely reprinted once exhausted.
