EuroSouvenir notes are a privately managed collector series issued under license from individual eurozone central banks, allowing non-monetary "0 euro" denominations to circulate as legal novelties without touching the payments system. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints the series on genuine banknote paper with the same security features applied to circulating euro notes — including the holographic strip — which is precisely why central banks agreed to the arrangement: counterfeiting a zero-denomination note achieves nothing.
Fort Fun Abenteuerland is a theme park in the Sauerland hills of North Rhine-Westphalia, opened in 1969. The 2022 issue is one of hundreds of site-specific editions in the EuroSouvenir catalogue, each with a unique serial prefix identifying the issuing venue.
