EuroSouvenir notes are a collector-driven product line authorized under a licensing arrangement with the European Central Bank, permitting private issuers to produce legal-tender-format novelty notes that carry zero face value and no spending power whatsoever. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major security printers supplying actual euro currency to several EU member states, produces these on the same caliber of substrate and with comparable security features — a deliberate choice that makes them feel authoritative in hand.

Madrid Puerta de Atocha, opened in 1851, is Spain's busiest rail terminus and carries particular historical weight as the site closest to the March 2004 commuter train bombings.
