The 0 euro souvenir note program, administered through Euro Banknote Memory and similar operators, has produced thousands of tourist-edition pieces since the concept gained traction around 2015 — but zoo-issued notes commemorating specific animal births occupy a genuinely small subset. Kinna, a female elephant born at Doué-la-Fontaine in 2022, became the subject of this issue, the Bioparc having built a strong reputation for African elephant breeding within French zoological circles.
Oberthur Fiduciaire printed the piece to full security-paper specification, as is standard across the 0 euro program — genuine banknote paper, genuine intaglio. Legally worthless, technically overengineered.
