Suscinio was the favored hunting retreat of the Dukes of Brittany from the thirteenth century, eventually passing to the French crown and falling into ruin after the Revolution. The château was repurchased by the Morbihan département in 1965 and remains one of the few major medieval ducal residences in Brittany still intact enough to visit.
Oberthur Fiduciaire prints the entire EuroSouvenir series on genuine banknote-specification paper using intaglio and offset techniques — the same production chain as circulating euro notes, which is the point. Legal tender for zero, but manufactured to the same standard as currency that actually buys something.
