Eurosouvenirs zero-euro notes occupy an odd corner of the hobby — legally issued collector pieces with no redemption value, introduced under a 2015 arrangement that allows licensed vendors to produce notes bearing genuine euro security features, including Oberthur's printing, without infringing on ECB monetary instruments. Oberthur Fiduciaire handles the bulk of the series, which by the early 2020s had grown to thousands of distinct tourist and novelty themes across Europe.
The Dino-Zoo issue from 2022 is one of several hundred themed releases that year. Collectible, not spendable, and frankly more interesting as a study in licensed security printing than as a numismatic object.
