The 0 Euro souvenir note program, administered by the European Banknote Memory Organization (EBMO), has produced thousands of these collector pieces since 2015 — all printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire under license and incorporating genuine euro-series security features, including the EURion constellation. The Deutsches Museum in Munich, founded in 1903 and holding one of the largest science and technology collections in the world, issued this 2022 entry as a museum shop exclusive.
They carry no legal tender status anywhere. The face value of zero is not a gimmick — it is a precise legal designation that keeps the notes outside EU currency counterfeiting regulations while allowing authentic intaglio printing.
