The Church of Peace in Świdnica — Kościół Pokoju — was built in 1657 under the terms of the Peace of Westphalia, which permitted Silesian Lutherans to construct churches outside town walls, using only wood, clay, and straw, without towers or bells. The Habsburg authorities intended impermanence; the building survived. It is now the largest timber-framed religious structure in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, which is the hook EuroSouvenir used to justify this commemorative issue.
Oberthur Fiduciaire's involvement ensures the cotton substrate and security features meet the same production standards applied to genuine euro souvenir notes across the program — legally zero value, but manufactured to circulating-note specification.
