Eurosouvenir notes occupy an odd niche — they carry face value zero, are issued under a European Central Bank framework that permits their production as collectibles, and are printed to full banknote specification by licensed security printers. This Christmas 2022 issue was produced by Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of a small number of facilities authorized to manufacture them, using the same 100% cotton substrate and security architecture — watermark, hologram strip — applied to circulating euro denominations. The designer, Adrian Ferda, is a Czech graphic artist responsible for a substantial share of the Eurosouvenir catalogue output.
