The EU flag appears at upper left, a large guilloche-framed zero at centre-left, and a holographic security patch at upper right with a row of five stars below it.

The Château des Milandes, a 15th-century manor in the Dordogne, was purchased by Josephine Baker in 1947 and became the physical home of her "Rainbow Tribe" — the twelve children of different nationalities she adopted as a living argument against racism. She was eventually evicted in 1969 after years of financial collapse, reportedly found on the steps by journalists, wrapped in a blanket. The choice of this site for a souvenir note in 2022 carries some weight: Baker was inducted into the Panthéon that same year, the fifth woman and first Black woman to receive that honor.
