The 0 Euro souvenir note program, administered through participating cultural sites across Europe, exists entirely outside any legal tender framework — these are printed collectibles sold at face value as tourist keepsakes, with no monetary function whatsoever. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces them to full banknote security specifications nonetheless, complete with serial numbers, UV features, and the EURion constellation, presumably to deter counterfeiting of a note worth nothing.
Rambouillet's château has served as the official French presidential summer residence since 1896, a role it still holds today.
