Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse is dominated by a large intaglio-style zero denomination numeral at left-centre, set against a fine guilloche underprint in lilac and gold tones. To the right, a full-length vignette of a figure dressed in the traditional Capa d'Honras — a long hooded cloak — stands with a pastoral riverside landscape in the background, rendered in violet and sepia hues. The European Union flag appears in the upper left corner alongside the series designation '2023-2', with the 'EURO SOUVENIR' logotype in bold blue at lower centre, a facsimile signature of R. Faille (C.E.O.) at lower right, and a text block in Mirandese recounting the inscription of the Capa d'Honras crafting process into the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Opmerkingen

The "0 Euro" souvenir note is a collector item with no legal tender status, issued under the EuroSouvenir program that launched around 2015 and has since produced hundreds of regional and thematic designs across Europe. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints these on genuine banknote paper with a watermark, which gives them a tactile authenticity that cheaper souvenir printing cannot replicate. The Capa D'Honras — a traditional Portuguese ceremonial academic cloak — is a reasonable subject for the format, given the program's heavy reliance on cultural and heritage themes to drive point-of-sale purchases at tourist locations.
