The EuroSouvenir program, administered under license from the European Central Bank, permits the production of legal-tender-format notes with a face value of zero — technically valid as collectibles but worthless as currency by design. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the few security printers authorized to produce euro banknotes for the Eurosystem, handles the physical printing, which gives these souvenir pieces genuinely robust anti-counterfeiting infrastructure despite their novelty status.
Berck-sur-Mer, a coastal town in the Pas-de-Calais, has an unusual medical history — its dry sea air made it a major center for tuberculosis treatment in the nineteenth century, drawing patients from across Europe long before the town became a beach resort.
