| Opmerkingen |
EuroSouvenir 0 Euro notes are a French-born commercial concept launched around 2015, sold at tourist sites as collectibles with no legal tender status whatsoever. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them to banknote security specifications — intaglio, security thread, UV-reactive elements — which is precisely the point: the tactile and visual authenticity is the product. Bayern Park Freizeitparadies, a family amusement park in Lower Bavaria, joined a catalog that by 2020 numbered in the hundreds of individual site-specific issues.
Collector demand follows scarcity of print runs, not any monetary function. Some site-specific issues were limited to a few thousand pieces; others ran far higher with no public disclosure of quantities.
