| 正面描述 | The central vignette reproduces a medieval illumination conventionally attributed to the Master of the Golden Fleece of Vienna and Copenhagen, an illuminator active in Bruges between 1470 and 1480, portraying the Battle of Aljubarrota fought on 14 August 1385. The denomination "0 EURO" appears in bold letterpress at centre-right alongside the "EUROSOUVENIR" programme inscription, with the series identifier "2021-1" printed in the upper field. A decorative guilloche underprint frames the composition, with the signatory line bearing the name R. FAILLE and the designation C.E.O. MEFH at lower right. |

| 备注 |
The Battle of Aljubarrota, fought on 14 August 1385, secured João I's claim to the Portuguese throne against Castilian forces under Juan I — a decisive enough victory that it effectively ended serious Castilian ambitions over Portugal for generations. The souvenir zero-euro program, launched by EuroSouvenir in 2015, has used historical anniversaries and landmarks as its hook, with Oberthur Fiduciaire producing the notes to the same security specifications as genuine euro issues: intaglio printing, UV-reactive fibres, and a genuine serial number.
The 2021 release coincides with the 636th anniversary. Legally not tender anywhere, but manufactured to a standard that makes them indistinguishable in hand from circulating notes.
