The EuroSouvenir program, launched under license from the European Central Bank, permits private issuers to produce zero-denomination notes that are legal in design vocabulary but carry no spending power whatsoever. Oberthur Fiduciaire handles production for much of the series, which is why the print quality consistently punches above what you'd expect from a novelty item.
Martinskirchen is a village of a few hundred people in the Elbe-Elster district. The baroque manor there — Barockschloss Martinskirchen — was built in the early eighteenth century and survives in reasonable condition, which is far from guaranteed for rural Brandenburg estates that passed through GDR administration.
