The EuroSouvenir program — launched by the European Central Bank's tacit tolerance rather than any formal endorsement — extended to Canadian tourism operators around 2018–2019, an unusual case of a euro-denominated collectible issued for a country that neither uses the euro nor belongs to the eurozone. CAAB's involvement positioned Banff as one of a small number of non-European sites to enter the series. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major security printers behind genuine euro production, brings authentic substrate and intaglio work to what is legally a zero-value novelty.

It cannot be tendered for payment anywhere.
