The 0 Euro souvenir series was introduced in France in 2015 as a licensed collector product — legal in composition and format, privately marketed, and printed to genuine banknote specification by Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major security printers that produces actual circulating currency for multiple central banks. The Arromanches 360 edition ties directly to the circular cinema at the cliff-top site above Gold Beach, which has screened its immersive Normandy landing film continuously since 1962.
Oberthur's inclusion of a hologram strip brings the security specification closer to circulating Euro issues than most novelty items come.
