EuroSouvenir notes occupy a strange niche — legal tender for zero, printed to the same technical standards as circulating currency, and sold to collectors at a markup over face value. This one commemorates Argentina's third World Cup title, won in Qatar in December 2022 on penalties against France, a result that generated considerable friction given that these notes were pressed by a French firm. Oberthur Fiduciaire, which prints genuine banknotes for numerous central banks, applies full security printing here: UV-reactive inks, fine-line intaglio work, and microprinting — none of it strictly necessary for a souvenir, but that's the point.
