| Opmerkingen |
The zero-euro souvenir note program, administered through a network of tourist vendors and cultural institutions, has produced hundreds of site-specific issues since its commercial launch around 2015. Aigues-Mortes is a reasonable candidate — the walled medieval port in the Camargue was Louis IX's purpose-built embarkation point for the Seventh and Eighth Crusades, and the remparts survive largely intact, which is genuinely unusual for a 13th-century fortification of that scale. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints these to official euro security specifications, including the EURion constellation and holographic strip, which are legally required even on denominations with no monetary value.
