These notes are printed to European Central Bank dimensional specifications and on genuine banknote paper by Oberthur Fiduciaire — the same contractor behind numerous African and francophone currency contracts — which gives them a tactile authenticity that drives collector demand despite carrying no monetary value whatsoever.
The 750 in the title marks Amsterdam's 750th anniversary in 2025, dating the city's formal founding to 1275, when Count Floris V granted toll privileges to settlers along the Amstel dam.
