| Obverse description | The obverse presents a photographic vignette of the north façade of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Gothic and Renaissance structure erected in 1885 and housing the national collection of Dutch masters from the 15th century through 1900. At centre, the coat of arms of Amsterdam bears the personal motto of post-liberation mayor Feike de Boer, translating as 'heroic', 'determined', and 'merciful'.
