The Hamburg Dungeon opened in 2000, part of the Merlin Entertainments expansion of the Dungeons franchise across European cities. This 0 Euro souvenir note marks its 25th anniversary — a collector piece with no monetary function, issued under the scheme run by the Eurobillet Association, which licenses Oberthur Fiduciaire to produce legal-format souvenir notes for tourist attractions throughout Europe.
Oberthur's involvement gives these pieces genuine banknote-grade paper and security features, which is precisely why the format works as a collectible. The 0 Euro program has issued well over a thousand distinct designs since its commercial rollout around 2015.
