Señera is a small municipality in Valencia's Ribera Alta comarca, and like hundreds of other Republican-controlled towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional paper money when coinage disappeared from circulation entirely — hoarded, melted, or simply gone. The Consejo Municipal issues of 1937 were purely local instruments, valid only within the issuing township and produced without any central oversight from the Republican treasury.
At 51 × 29 mm, this is among the smallest paper currency formats produced anywhere in the conflict. The Turró and Gari catalogues both document it, which is the primary reason it remains traceable at all — provincial Civil War issues from minor Valencian municipalities were poorly archived and survive in genuinely small numbers.
