The centre carries the issuer's name BANQUE DE LA RÉUNION in large letters, beneath which the authorising decree text reads ÉMISSION AUTORISÉE PAR ARRÊTÉ LOCAL DU 12 AOUT 1943, followed by the value spelled out in full as CINQUANTE CENTIMES.

备注	Banque de la Réunion's wartime fractional notes were a direct consequence of the metal shortages that gutted small-denomination coinage across French colonial territories after 1940. The 0,50 Franc denomination was among the lowest issued under these emergency arrangements, covering transactions that coin could no longer handle once nickel and copper disappeared from circulation. Réunion's political status complicated matters further — the island sided with Free France in 1942, creating a period of monetary uncertainty while the rest of France's colonial network remained under Vichy-aligned institutions. These notes circulated through that transition.
