正面描述 Typeset interim note (Zwischenschein) printed in black on pale blue-grey paper with a light guilloche underprint, enclosed within a simple rectangular ruled border. The heading 'Schatzanweisungen des Deutschen Reichs' appears in large Gothic blackletter type above the bold denomination '0,42 Mark Gold = 1/10 Dollar', with a small circular Reichsbankdirektorium seal bearing an eagle vignette at lower left, a red serial number at upper right, and twelve facsimile signatures of Reichsbank directorate members across the lower portion. A right-hand stub repeats the denomination vertically and carries the control designation 'M-10'.

备注

The Gold Schatzanweisungen were an emergency response to the collapse of the paper mark — small-denomination treasury certificates denominated in Goldmark rather than the inflating Papiermark, intended to give the public something with a stable unit of account while the monetary system was rebuilt around the Rentenmark. The 0.42 Mark denomination is a fraction that makes no obvious sense until you recall that 1 pre-war gold mark equaled 100 old Pfennig, and 42 Pfennig was a practical transactional amount in pre-inflation retail pricing.

These notes were issued under the Reichsbankdirektorium in the chaotic transitional months of 1922–23, bridging the hyperinflationary peak and the stabilization. Survival rates are reasonable; they were hoarded precisely because holders trusted the gold-denominated face value.
